copy block 2

Several years ago, author John C. McComb stopped at Mount Shasta, California on a trip between Ashland, Oregon and Los Angeles. Purpose of the stop was to pause en route for meditation and prayer.

As he was leaving, John set out to begin listening to a book on tape in his car, but an Inner Voice told him quite clearly, "Don't listen to a book on tape, record one!" The impulse to comply was quite strong; and John took out a small tape recorder. He set off down Interstate 5 and began dictating the words that flowed easily from that Inner Voice. Some people believe that each human who has dedicated his life to God can hear a still, small voice from that spiritual Source.

The words flowed easily for four or five hours until the text for We Are One - I am was completed. As he drove and the Voice dictated, John heard things that he knew -- and some that he didn't. It was a first-person narration that came from him, but felt like it was a higher connection -- a part of his Being that was connected to something beyond himself. The short book he "dictated" presents some new and interesting thoughts about the relationship between humans and their God. Thoughts like:

--We are all One, but - paradoxically - we are totally alone within our five senses so that no-one else can have exactly the same experience in the world around us. In that sense, all of us are unique; and if we are to experience a "second-coming" we are personally responsible for making it happen.

--The base reality of humanity is a Creator God; and if we take God out of the schools, how can our children believe anything they are taught?

--Nothing else in life gives the total feeling of completion, fulfillment and joy as learning to love another individual human being. If the world is to survive, it requires humanity to learn to love unconditionally, and, in the process, discover the nature of God.

-- For answers to the deep questions of life, each human must go within him or herself and make a contact with God.
